In
1991, Rafael Medina, Jr. started Rafael Construction, Inc., a
general contracting company. Several months later, he saw a great
need for a quality commercial framer in the Las Vegas valley.
Medina seized the opportunity and began a framing division. Due
to its noteworthy success, Rafael Framers is now its own entity,
with an unlimited C-3 carpentry license.
Originally working in the Las Vegas area exclusively,
the company has expanded into other regions as well, including
Northern Nevada and Northern California. Chiefly involved in the
residential aspect in this locale, the company has achieved incredible
success in this venture.
Rafael Framers is equipped to handle all types of
framing jobs. Whether it is commercial buildings, office space,
strip malls, restaurants or even banks, the company has excelled.
Examples of the company's diversity include jobs such as the Cannery
Hotel and Casino, Red Rock Country
Club,
select In-and-Out Burger, McDonalds and Starbucks locations, Cheesecake
Factory, select Vons, Food 4 Less, Albertsons, Walgreen's and
CVS locations, select Nevada State Bank and Northern Trust Bank
locations, select Home Depot locations, and the Black Mountain
Business Park. The company has also completed several million
square feet of panelized roof structures. In the higher end, the
company has worked on multi-million dollar projects including
Sansone- phases one and two.
The company has been successful for a variety of
reasons. Besides superior craftsmanship, the individuals within
the organization also achieve a high level of excellence. Medina,
president, works closely with Kenny Lucas and Jim Terry so that
every job is remarkable in all aspects.

Kenny Lucas (left) - Owner/Project Manager
Having been involved in the framing industry for more than 32
years, Kenny Lucas knows a bit about the work. He also realizes
how unique Rafael Framers is. "If you work hard for Rafael,
he will work hard for you," he says. He attributes his longevity
to this factor. His greatest satisfaction occurs when he is able
to see the evolution of a job from bid to completion, all the
while coming in under budget. Although Lucas sees the industry
becoming more competitive, he believes that Rafael Framers is
uniquely situated to take advantage of the tremendous opportunities
present in today's marketplace.
Jim Terry (right) - Owner/Field Superintendent
Being a field superintendent is a challenging job, but the fulfillment
Jim Terry receives as he monitors the progress from slab and lumber
to finished project makes it all worthwhile. Having worked for
Rafael Framers for 11 years, he appreciates the integrity the
company has displayed time and again, "Although this is a
business, we realize that the customer needs to be satisfied,
and we will do whatever it takes to get the job done," explains
Terry. By emphasizing the quality of work and personal relationships,
Terry is helping make Rafael Framers and industry leader in the
Las Vegas valley.
